I just found this quote on my Twitter stream from @ZnaTrainer and think it is the perfect compliment to this article:

"Cherish your visions & your dreams, as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements."~Napoleon Hill

Hi Cecil! Oh my goodness! I am thrilled that you left your comment! You are an exemplary model of what I consider the perfect trifecta: doing work you love, doing it well, and being of service...really, making more than you need to live comfortably is a distant 4th in my book! Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your thoughtful comment!

Rich's plan definitely captures it. I know that when I turned 38 I reealized that I'd wanted to be a writer when I grew up since about age 10, and that I was turning into a grownup pretty quickly. So I made a ten year plan, not very definite, to move from construction and contracting to writing and editing.

It only took eight years. (Though I'm yet to hit the $30,000 mark, 12 years further on. But I'm pretty low maintenance.)
