How to Take the Next Step Toward Your Dreams

by Stacey on June 12, 2012

How to Take the Next Step Toward Your DreamsThree years ago, at about the same time I started my business, I started writing a book.

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I spent a year writing the book in 2009, a year querying agents in 2010, and I got signed by one in 2011. Then, on a cold day on February 4th, 2012, I terminated the contract with my agent because I no longer felt like we were a good fit.

As I sent the email to my agent terminating our contract, I felt I was doing the right thing, but I was still scared. I knew—by experience—how hard it was to get any agent, but I also knew that I couldn’t stay in a relationship that wasn’t working solely because it was a relationship. (Have you ever had the same feeling?)

And so I let go of the good to make room for the great. It felt like a necessary step, and I was glad I had done it, but I still wanted some reassurance. So I asked the Universe for a little acknowledgment that I had, in fact, done the right thing.

I strongly believe the Universe will never present a challenge without giving you the way ahead right in front of you…it’s just that sometimes you have to look closely, or get really still to see it. So I was looking for the Universe to show me the next step, because I didn’t have a clue what to do.

Ten minutes later I got an email from Hay House (again, if you’ve been following me for a while you know that I have always had my sights on Hay House as the publishing company for my book). It announced a series of writer’s workshops to be held in LA, New York City, and…Asheville, NC (the smallish Western North Carolina city where I live).

I knew I had just received my “sign” from the Universe, but I hesitated. The workshop required a significant investment—$500 for the weekend—and I didn’t exactly have the money sitting around in my sock drawer.

I had to look really hard at what I wanted and be willing to make what I wanted a bigger priority than all the other things that were competing for those funds. The moment I decided to invest in myself over a vacation with my family was a HUGE turning point in my life.

Fast forward four months: I can honestly say that I was seriously stretched by the decision to invest in myself through the workshop, but that stretch allowed me to grow even more fully into my dream and I’m so glad I made that decision.

Again I’m writing this the day before the weekend takes place, so you’ll just have to check back in about what actually happened at the event, but I’ve been meditating on other turning points in my life – those times when I consciously chose to look for and follow the next step laid out by the Universe, even when it may have looked crazy or unrealistic to anyone else.

Those were times when I CLAIMED a different future.

Here’s what I want you to know: If you are in my community, I believe you are at a turning point too, and here’s what I want you to think about:

  • Do you know what your Purpose is?
  • Do you have a clear PLAN for doing your purpose-driven work?
  • Do you have the mentoring you need?
  • Do you have the coaching, community and accountability you need to keep you going when your subconscious pulls you off track? (Because it will.)
  • Are you willing to take action, even when it’s uncomfortable, and not convenient?

Like it or not, these kinds of decisions will determine whether you create success on your own terms or not.

Here is what I know…

Getting from where you are to where you want to be starts with nothing more than a DECISION.

And as you make that decision, you claim what you want. You declare, to yourself and the Universe, “This is what I’m going to do. This is who I am. I am so happy and grateful now that I am LIVING this.”

After the decision is made, it’s a little easier, if only because fewer doubts creep in. You keep going, and it’s all about getting support from someone who is just a little farther ahead of you on the journey. With a trusted guide, you stick to the path, no matter what.

The process is simple, but it’s not easy. And you can’t go it alone.

If you’re reading this, I know that like me, you have a CALLING.

I believe that, now more than ever, spiritual women are being called to step forward, and step up.

I know you have sooo much to give. And to do that, you need to be getting your message out in a big way. You need to be able to create income doing the work you LOVE.

But truly, that’s not all…

The world needs new examples of what it means to make money—instead of all the old stories and beliefs that we’re conditioned with, that keep people living in fear.

And I believe that spiritual women are the ones to BE those models, and to lead the way with money in the future!

That’s one of my “BIG WHY’s” behind The Heart-Based Business Success System. If you want to have the marketing and mindset systems to create a business that serves you and the world, I want to help.

I’ve designed The Heart-Based Business Success System so that you can finally break through what’s holding you back, discover and live your life purpose, and get paid handsomely.

I’ve designed this program to be a turning point for you.

But YOU have to claim what you want. You have to commit to your mission. You have to say, “This is who I am! This is what I’m doing. Nothing will stop me from living my purpose.”

You have to take that step.

I can’t do that for you, but I’ll be here on the other side to support you, when you do.

It’s time to decide and take action: http://www.staceycurnow.com/business-success/.
