When you find yourself appreciating something – at any time, or even multiple times, in a week – I hope you will try to capture it in a note, photograph or any form that strikes your fancy, and send it to us.
If you get it to us each Thursday at 5pm it will be included in the next day’s post. (See left side bar for the link to send your submissions.) See this week’s entries below.
If you missed getting in your submission earlier in the week, but would like to chime in now, please leave a comment below! I can’t wait to hear what you are appreciating!

This week I’m appreciating a fabulous trip to New York City! It was a quick bite of the Big Apple and it was delicious! Here’s a sample:
I attended an Omega Institute event with one of my favorite teachers, Byron Katie. It was a phenomenal experience - you'll definitely read more about it in future eZine and blog posts!
Lissa Rankin and Danielle Vieth (of Owning Pink and my future partners on a series of joint ventures) and I all happened to be in Manhattan (both of them from California!) at the same time! We shared cocktails and big dreams at the MoMA restaurant.
Elliot is a dear family friend. We delighted over a 4-hour dinner at the famous Balthazar. I could rhapsodize over the gift of an almost 40-year friendship, and write an ode to the salt-crusted red snapper and carmelized banana tart, but suffice to say that it was a magical night!

Today I am appreciating the 20 page insert in our local paper today featuring profiles of all the authors that will be participating in the Hudson Children’s Book Festival on May 1st. As a first time author, I will be signing and doing readings from my self published “White Dog Haikus and Things we Learned from our Westie”
http://www.lulu.com/content/8028222.
I am also appreciating the inspiration for my book, our very own Islay Bear, and my wonderful husband David Jackson who got me addicted to writing White Dog Haiku.

I am appreciating the young woman my daughter is growing up to be. It’s ‘Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day’. Our daughter is off for an adventure at the office with Dad. A bittersweet parenting moment; appreciating the young woman she’s becoming and longing for the baby I once held. I so appreciate being her mother. : )

We take turns sharing the best parts of our day at dinnertime. I find that vocalizing them gives us insight about each other and cultivates a grateful attitude.

I enjoyed admiring the many, many wildflowers blooming at the Botanical Gardens beside UNCA yesterday, including several kinds of large trilliums. Don’t miss the springtime flower opportunities! They’re guaranteed to boost positive emotions…

I start each day with a reminder to look for things that I like. Since we usually find what we’re looking for, I’m sure to find things I like throughout the day.

Thanks Stacey! I haven’t had a chance to check this site until now to see that you commented on this. I am so excited on my book event. It promises to be quite the day – last year other authors had buyers, kids and teachers 4 deep! And thanks for ordering a copy of my book, you rock!

I love the idea behind these Friday posts, Stacey. It’s fabulous! Now … if only I can get myself to remember that Thursday deadline. …
Hi Chania Girl!
I’m so glad you stopped by to enjoy all the lovely appreciation! You know you can submit *any* time in the week (just look at the upper left corner of the blog) – even after the deadline – and we’ll get it up (if not *this* week, then the next)! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! Much love, S
